Overview of IWF Bodies:
A brief outline of the makeup and
roles of the bodies of the IWF is as follows:

The
Council: A General meeting of the IWF, in particular the Annual General
Meeting which is held in conjunction with the IWF Individual World Championships.
The Council is the highest authoritative body of the IWF and all Member
organizations are entitled to attend its meetings.

The Executive
Committee: The executive management body of the IWF. It's members
are:
- The President (elected by the Council)
- One Vice-President per Continent (elected by the Council)
- One Hon Treasurer (elected by the Council)
- The Secretary (appointed
by the Executive Committee)
- One member representative of each
member
organization

Ad
hoc and Standing Committees: These look after specific tasks on behalf
of the Executive Committee, such as the Rules and Umpires Committee that
generates the rules clarifications published by the IWF.
Clause 11 of the
Constitution and Schedules 3, 4 and 5 of
the Regulations specify the details of the structure
and powers of the bodies of the IWF. |
