IWF announces that the 2007 World Individual Championships have been awarded to Mind Sports South Africa and will take place in Port Elizabeth, Republic of South Africa at the end of April 2007. For further info contact mindsportssa@iafrica.com

IWF announces that the first IWF European Individual Championships will take place in 2007. The event has been awarded to RINIWA and will take place in Dublin, Ireland in October/November 2007. For further info contact riniwa@iworg.com

b) The Greek team at the WIC in Athens defeated the British team in a test match (the first
ever British a-team test loss). Full test match results will be posted when made available.

c) The site is now gradually being updated. Look for substantial additions and changes over the next month.

d) James Hamilton (BHGS) is the new IWF President.

e) Steve Payne has resigned as VP for N. America. The other Committee members thank him for his time & input over the last 2 years.

f) Rob Brennan, the Secretary, will be standing down from both that post and as RINIWA's IWF representative at the next Executive Committee meeting which is planned for June. Richard Aynsley will be the new RINIWA IWF Rep, the June Executive Committee meeting will decide who is the new Secretary.

(28-January-05) Announcement regarding DBM rules version for IWF 2005 World Individual Championships in Melbourne

The IWF DBM World Individual Championship 2005 will definitely be using the v3.0 rules. There are no intentions of switching to v3.1 before the championship.

(28-January-05) News from 2nd December 2004 Executive Committee Meeting

Interium Reports from the sub-committes were published, brief summaries are:

Umpire's Sub-Committee: No new clarifications drafted or published due to the potential release of DBMM.
Glicko Sub-Committee: Work on synchronising the ratings has begun and it is hoped to have them ready for the next Executive Committee meeting.
Championship Rules Review/Revision Sub-Committee: Work on revised rules almost complete. 3 minute Blitz will be in effect for Melbourne IWF as will DBR version 2.0 and a "whistle stop" for games that have completed 12 bounds.
Online Committee Decision Making Procedures SubCommittee: This has been disbanded as the current rules on proxy voting and meetings seem to be working satisfactorily for online voting .
Constitutional Review/Reform SubCommittee: Changes to membership requirements, voting and committee posts/officers are all being discussed:

The Executive Committee meeting also agreed to only hold the World Championships every second year from 2006 (after Athens) however there will also be new IWF Continental Championships on alternate years (European, North American, African and Pacific Championships) from 2007.

(30-August-04) Website Updated to Reflect 7th August Executive Committee Meeting

The meeting elected a new IWF Executive Director, Rob Brennan (RINIWA) and established several new committees to look at specific issues such as a transfer to Glicko ratings, reform and revision of the IWF's constitution and regulations and a review of the rules for the world individual championships. The inactive committee known as the colours board was also disbanded.(30-August-04) Junior Results from IWF World Individual Championships 2004 now available.

(5-July-04) IWF World Individual Championships 2005 Melbourne Website Launched: SAAW have launched a dedicated website for the IWF Individual World Championships 2005 to be held in Melbourne, Australia. It will continue to be updated as the event approaches.
