The Executive Committee:

The Executive Committee is the executive management body of the IWF with ultimate responsibility for the activities of the IWF between meetings of the Council. Apart from the Secretary (who is appointed by the Executive Committee), it is elected by the Council of the IWF. The President of the IWF normally acts as the chair of meetings of the Executive Committee. It generally meets at least twice a year. The various Ad Hoc and Standing Committees of the IWF are technically sub-committees of the Executive Committee and are empowered by it.
